Great TV for the Price4

I have owned this TV for about 5 months and am very impressed with this TV and have many good things to say about it. At the moment I have this TV mounted on the wall of my and usually look around at a distance of 12 feet, which I think is a good distance of 46-inch television. I’m also using the TV as a monitor for a home theater PC that looks good as my computer monitor, if not better. The only reason I gave this TV 5 stars because the construction of speakers

PROS

Screen with a matte finish (greatly reduces glare, which is a great addition to the display in a room with lots of windows)

Built-in video up-scaling is great (I am always impressed when watching VHS and DVD).

Energy consumption (only 230 watts of power)

Weight (without stand weight is less than 50 pounds of light, which is enough for me to lift it on the wall of my)

HDMI connections (3 HDMI connections seem to be a good deal ‘for the devices at present)

60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (twice as good as the previous model)

CONS

Built in Speakers (speakers started to shake and buzz if the volume was raised to about 50. I would defiantly recommend a home audio system, if you want to experience the full movie)

Component video connection (I had to buy a component switch that can handle my component connection from my Wii, Playstation, and a DVD player)

1099 for price and picture quality is incredible 60,000:1 Crystal Clear, also the use of an antenna for HDTV with built in speakers was good, do not let the price fool you. .. It’s just awesome I have this TV for about a month ago, no problem so do not worry far.and on 120 MHz, so you do not notice if there is any difference.

I recently replaced an old CRT televisions in style with this Samsung 46 “HDTV and am very happy with our purchase. Image is incredibly sharp and colors are well balanced. Reflections from nearby windows are virtually nonexistent and the display is not aligned does not provide no obvious deterioration in image quality, which is a great advantage. only a marginal part of this HDTV is its internal speakers, which offers voice rather limited and quality music. With separate stereo or home theater audio components is highly recommended . All in all a great TV!

Amazing picture, but surprised by some missing features5

First of all I want to say, too, that I experienced the bug where the TV comes on suddenly turns itself off, but after installing the firmware upgrade that Samsung posted 4 / 5 the problem has disappeared.

I agree with other reviewers that the picture is amazing. I am also happy to see that Samsung has added an HDMI port 4. I was initially concerned that the “light touch” might clash with my style, but is very thin, especially if you mount the TV inside the cabinet. “Infolink” feature is nice and easy to configure, but I do not see as very useful.

Now for some caveats. I bought this TV right after setting up an LNT4661F for my inlaws, and I was very surprised to realize that the A650 is missing several features from the 4661F, despite A650 costs $ 650 more. For starters, the A650 has a rear S-video port (only one side S-video port). This is probably not a big problem for most people, but if you are using an older VCR or cable box, etc will have a cable attached to the side of the TV. Furthermore, there is only a composite port on the back of your TV, plus one on the side. If you want to switch from three cam surveillance consists of entry, etc. ‘re out of luck. Than a concern for me was that the A650 has only 1 antenna input versus 2 on the 4661F. This means that the A650 is not possible to connect both the antenna and a cable input. I believe that all the data uses a Samsung set top box in order to cut corners there.

By far my biggest complaint is the remote control. Again unlike the 4661F, A650 is NOT a universal remote control! This is essentially a simple TV remote control, although able to control Samsung “Anynet +” components connected via HDMI. This seems to be a big step backwards and bothers me more than other features have been removed. Furthermore, the remote is not described on the site of Samsung, so I had no way of knowing that the distance was “de-improved”. I agree with other reviewers that the navigation wheel is horrible … spins freely which makes it practically useless … spin your dial to make your selection, then as you move your finger to press the Enter button inside the scroll wheel moves the wheel and select the wrong value. One might wonder “what were they thinking?”. I saw the toys burger with better tactile feedback!

Despite my criticisms and annoyance that some features were removed, I still rated this TV as a 5 star in my book, because the image quality is by far the biggest consideration and it seems big to me. Furthermore, the aesthetic is very beautiful and new features such as HDMI and 4 are for Infolink removed features and poor remote control.
