When I bought this TV from Amazon.com I had already decided on this Samsung 52 “series and tried to choose between 650 and 750. At that time there was a small difference in price between the two on Amazon.com. I reached 650 election because I was putting the TV in a corner of the limited space.

650 has a less bulky frame around the LCD screen, so it was only 50.2 cm wide, compared to 750, which is 52 “wide. Both screens are exactly the same viewing area. Beyond trying to accommodate my space limited, I felt that the frame smaller, more beautiful than watching television more widely.

For another reason why I chose the 650 is that it can swivel on the base, while the 750 is based on it. Why do I put in a corner of the television, turning this feature came in very handy, as I had to get behind it from time to time to connect the cables, etc.

I read a lot about screen reflection and was preparing to potentially unpleasant experience of seeing during the day, especially since television is the room has windows on two walls around the route and full daytime sunlight a day. I am pleased to report that screen reflection is absolutely no problem. December 20, 2008 Update: I now owned the TV for more than 6 months. No Regrets. TV has survived well in a family with 5 children under the age of 10 years. It took several direct hits screens toys thrown from a 2 years, but not shown on the screen easily rubbed off. It still seems like the first day I took and it works perfectly. I am very happy with this purchase.

June 7, 2009 Update: Still going strong after 1 year. Absolutely no problem with the TV. Best buy I’ve ever done. Anyone who has seen hard to believe that the image quality. I get positive comments all the time.

My research concludes this is # 1 – Auto-off problem solved
I did the research and to visit the sites of brick and mortar and I concluded the Samsung features are the best on the market today. I was worried about self-closing issue that I was reading. I called Samsung customer support and was told that there is a problem, but did not mention the firmware update, which is actually published on their website. Go to the Sony website and look under “Support / News & Alerts” – A650 Series LCD TV Auto Off Firmware Update. A small number of Samsung A650 series LCD TVs turn off automatically. The models affected are:

* LN46A650A1F
* LN52A650A1F

Samsung has released a firmware update that fixes the problem. If you have one of these models, Samsung recommends you install this firmware update on your TV, even if faced with Auto Off problem. If you have a USB memory drive, Samsung can send a unit that contains the firmware.
